Personal Background 

A professional graphic artist and marketing writer/director, Herb Stern worked most recently for Ziff-Davis, a media conglomerate specializing in computer information. While with the company he first was the art director for corporate communications and later vice president/director of creative services. He retired from the company in 1999.

 

His personal interests led him to painting and printmaking which he studied and practiced in many years of association with the Art Center of Northern New Jersey where he worked with Dan Dickerson, Paul Bruner, John Ross, and Sylvie Germain Covey.

 

He paints in various media including collage and acrylics, oils, and watercolors. His printmaking work is in photoetching and in lithography.
 

Solo shows include Edward Williams College, Teaneck and Tenafly Libraries, the Cottage Place Gallery of Ridgewood, and the Interchurch Center in New York City. He will be exhibiting at the JCC on the Palisades in Tenafly, NJ in August '05. He has participated in numerous group shows including Fairleigh Dickinson University, Bergen Community College, Pratt Graphics Center, Ringwood Manor, and the Art Center of Northern New Jersey.
